Torrevieja Salt Flats Tour

In this guided walking tour of the salt flats of Torrevieja, we'll discover the pink lagoons of one of the largest salt flats in Europe.

Description

At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Torrevieja salt flats and start a walking tour among salt pyramids and pink lagoons.

For two hours, we'll explore part of the Lagunas de la Mata & Torrevieja Natural Park, a protected area covering almost 4 kilometers (2.5 miles). On this tour, we'll observe a landscape with mounds of salt and pink waters.

We'll discuss the process in the salt mines of Torrevieja for treating the huge tons of salt extracted from these lagoons, a practice ongoing since Roman times, as well as the reasons for the lagoons' striking pink tone.

The guided tour of the Torrevieja salt flats will conclude at the starting point after a total of 2 hours.
