Join us on a guided walking tour through the Torrevieja salt flats, where you'll uncover the stunning pink lagoons of one of Europe's premier salt production sites.

Description

We'll gather at the entrance of the Torrevieja salt flats at the appointed time, marking the beginning of our walking exploration among the majestic salt pyramids and vibrant pink lagoons.

Over a span of two hours, we will navigate through a segment of the Lagunas de la Mata & Torrevieja Natural Park, which is a protected region encompassing nearly 4 kilometers (2.5 miles). Throughout this journey, you will witness a captivating landscape featuring towering salt mounds enveloped by rose-hued waters.

During the tour, we will explain how salt mining works in Torrevieja, elaborating on the extensive process for handling the immense quantities of salt harvested from these lagoons, a practice that dates back to Roman times. Additionally, you will learn about the factors contributing to the lagoons’ unique and vibrant pink coloration.

The guided tour will conclude at our starting point, encompassing a total duration of 2 hours.
