Do you want to discover the city where Nicolaus Copernicus was born? On this private tour in Torun, you'll explore its medieval streets with a private guide for your group.
Description
At the specified time, we'll meet near the Nicolaus Copernicus Monument in Old Town Torun. Prepare to explore one of Poland's oldest cities and learn about its history. We will walk through this UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of Poland.
Beginning in the main square, we will visit the Gothic Town Hall, housing a collection of sculptures, paintings, and stained glass. You will have the option to climb the tower for a view of Torun and the Vistula River.
We will continue to the Hansa merchants' mansions and various churches, including the Holy Spirit’s Church and Saint Mary’s Church, from the 14th and 16th centuries. Next, we'll explore Saint John’s Cathedral, built in the 13th century, significant for events like the baptism of Nicolaus Copernicus.
The tour will proceed past the city's defensive walls and towers such as Sailor’s Gate and Bridge Gate, concluding at the castle ruins of the Teutonic Knights, one of the oldest structures of its kind from the 13th century.
After a 3-hour tour, we'll conclude at the initial meeting point.
