On this excursion from Tours, we'll visit Chenonceau and Chambord, two famous castles in Loire, and taste wines at the Caves Ambacia wine cellars.

Description

The beautiful Loire Valley awaits us! We'll depart from the Tourist Office in Tours at the indicated time. After a 40-minute minibus ride, we'll arrive at the Château de Chenonceau, known as the "Château des Dames". This castle features arches over the Cher River, attributed to one of its notable female residents. During the visit, we will also learn about the name change of the palace from "Chenoceaux" to "Chenonceau".

Following our visit to Chenonceau, we'll proceed to Amboise and stop at the Caves Ambacia, a renowned winery. Here, sommeliers will guide us through the underground galleries and we will enjoy a tasting of three French wines.

After lunch on your own, we will visit another significant monument in the Loire Valley: the Château de Chambord. Inside this former royal residence, we will explore how Gallic kings supported the arts and sciences in the 16th century. This includes the influence of Leonardo da Vinci, who spent his final years in France and whose legacy is evident in Chambord's architecture.

We will return to Tours after this visit, arriving at the Tourist Office after 9 hours.
