Tamerza, Chebika, & Midès Day Trip

With this day trip from Tozeur or Nefta, you'll visit the oases of Chebika, Tamerza, and Midès, as well as the filming set of Star Wars, Mos Espa. A traditional lunch is included.

Day Trip Details

After hotel pickup in Tozeur or Nefta, we'll explore iconic mountain oases and desert film locations. The first stop is Chebika Oasis, where we will walk for 45 minutes to 1 hour, enjoying the waterfall and scenic views over Chott El Gharsa.

Next, we'll visit Tamerza Oasis, the largest mountain oasis in Tunisia. After a 20-minute drive, we will spend 30 to 45 minutes taking pictures and enjoying a traditional lunch that includes soup and salad, followed by Tunisian couscous or meat cooked in a gargoulette, with seasonal fruits for dessert.

Following lunch, we'll drive 15 minutes to Midès, where we will stroll for about 30 minutes, appreciating the canyon views and tasting local dates.

Our adventure continues with an off-road journey across the salt lake of Chott El Gharsa, visiting iconic film locations such as The English Patient. We'll also reach Onng Jmal to see its rocky formations, spending around 1.5 hours at these sites.

Finally, after a 15-minute drive, we'll visit Mos Espa to see the Star Wars filming set. After enjoying a sunset over the Sahara's dunes for 1 hour, we will conclude the 8-hour trip and return to your hotel.
