With this visit to a tomato plantation, you'll uncover the secrets of Re Fiascone and taste produce paired with wine.

Tour Details

We will meet at Piazza Corsano to begin this experience in Tramonti, exploring the iconic flavours of the Amalfi Coast. You will learn about the tomato Re Fiascone.

We'll visit the fields where this product has been cultivated, thanks to the Acarbio Association focused on preserving the environmental heritage of the Amalfi Coast.

The visit will start with the history of Re Fiascone and insights about the project. This tomato was common in the region until the 19th century but nearly disappeared due to the introduction of other varieties. Recent efforts among farmers have helped prevent its complete loss.

After learning about the characteristics of the seed and tomato plantations, you will participate in a tasting of local products.

We will taste pagnotto, a bread made with ancient grains, Re Fiascone tomatoes, and Garum, a fish-based sauce from Ancient Rome. This will be paired with 2 glasses of red Tramonti wine, produced from a local grape variety.

At the end of the tasting, we will conclude our tour after a total of 1.5 hours.
