Tour Details
We'll meet at Piazza Corsano to begin the experience in Tramonti, exploring the iconic flavours of the Amalfi Coast and the tomato Re Fiascone.
The fields of this product, cultivated by the Acarbio Association, are key to preserving the environmental heritage of the region. We will start with the history of Re Fiascone and its importance, noting that it was common until the 19th century but faced decline due to other varieties. Recent efforts by farmers have helped prevent its extinction.
After learning about the seed characteristics and plantations, we will participate in a tasting of local products. This includes pagnotto, a bread from ancient grains, Re Fiascone tomatoes, and Garum, a sauce from Ancient Rome, all paired with 2 glasses of red Tramonti wine made from a local grape variety.
The tour concludes after a total of 1.5 hours.
