Embark on a journey back in time to visit one of the most enigmatic castles in Italy on this day trip to Castel del Monte. You'll learn all about the history of an emperor who was ahead of his time.
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at Piazza Re Manfredi and leave Trani, heading towards Castel del Monte by minibus. Once at our destination, we'll begin a guided tour of the interior of this incredible bastion, exploring its halls and towers and learning about its architectural details.
Castel del Monte is an octagonal fortress built by Frederick II, the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, in the 13th century. Its form, symbolism, and architecture make it a jewel of medieval art recognized as a World Heritage Site in 1996.
It is also one of the best-preserved castles in southern Italy, offering spectacular views of the Apulia region, perfect for photography. After enjoying this visit, we'll return to the meeting point in Trani, totaling 3 hours for the trip.
