Description
After picking you up from your hotel or the cruise port in Falmouth, we'll set off on a 40-minute journey to Montego Bay. Once we're there, we'll begin a guided tour of the city.
We'll visit all the main points of interest in this town, which are within walking distance. We'll explore Saint James Parish, a church with over 200 years of history, and pass by the sculpture of Samuel Sharpe, Jamaica's national hero, whose face appears on the Jamaican 50 dollar bill. The tour will provide insights into his achievements.
Near Sam Sharpe Square, we'll learn about the tragic history of The Cage, used in the 1800s as a prison for those remaining on the streets after 3 PM.
There will also be time to shop at the local handicraft market, where you can learn about the traditional Jamaican lifestyle.
Additionally, enjoy a panoramic view from Richmond Hill, where you can see the coastline and mountains of Montego Bay. Finally, on our return to Falmouth, we'll admire the exterior of Rose Hall, a mansion from the island's banana plantation era, and uncover its stories.
