Why Visit the Paleontological Museum?

The Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum, known as the MEF, is one of the main tourist attractions in Trelew, located in the Argentinean province of Chubut. This museum showcases many large dinosaur fossils found in the area, making it one of the best in South America.

With your ticket, you will see skeletons of colossal prehistoric animals, including the remarkable Tyrannotitan Chubutensis from the Cretaceous period. The MEF offers insights into the dinosaurs of Patagonia, their diets, survival strategies, and adaptations to significant climate changes, enhanced by interactive panels throughout the museum.

The exhibitions are organized chronologically into four stages: Cenozoic, Mesozoic, Paleozoic, and Precambrian eras. Pay particular attention to the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods within the Mesozoic section, featuring some of the most formidable dinosaurs.
