On this excursion to Lipica, you'll visit one of the oldest horse farms in Slovenia and the Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lipica Horse Farm & Škocjan Caves Excursion

After meeting at your selected meeting point in Trieste, we'll head to an old stud farm in Lipica, where we'll learn about the famous Lipizzaner horse.

Upon arrival, we'll explore the farm surrounded by chestnut and oak trees. You'll learn about the history of the white Lipizzaner horse and the tradition of breeding these animals, dating back more than 400 years.

After visiting the breeding farm, we'll make our way to the local Lipikum Museum to discover the peculiarities of this breed of horses. If time permits, we may catch one of the equestrian shows (not included).

Later, we'll head to the Škocjan Caves, one of the largest underground canyons in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll explore the caves, marveling at stalactites, rapids, and lakes. We will cross a bridge situated 40 meters above an underground river for unparalleled views of the canyon.

Before returning to Trieste, we'll explore the Škocjan Caves Regional Park on a stroll to view its geological and archaeological monuments.

After five hours of exploring, we'll return to our starting point in Trieste and conclude the day.
