We'll pick you up from your hotel in Trieste or at a central meeting point to kick off our day trip into two key highlights of Slovenia: Postojna cave and Predjama castle.

After crossing the border, we'll reach Postojna cave, a prominent tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of Europe's most famous karst monuments. This site is notable for having the world's only underground electric train.

At Postojna, we can observe the proteus and navigate the cave's tunnels, passageways, and galleries adorned with stalactites and stalagmites formed over thousands of years.

Following our visit to the cave, we will proceed to Predjama castle, a significant fortress from the 13th century located on a rocky wall 123 meters (400 feet) high. We will examine the architectural techniques of the Middle Ages and discuss the reasons for the fortress's location at a cave entrance.

The castle served as a refuge for the notable Erasmus de Lueg, whose story will be shared during the tour.

After five hours exploring these two Slovenian sites, we will conclude our day.
