We'll pick you up from your hotel in Trieste or at a central meeting point to begin our day trip to two key highlights of Slovenia: Postojna cave and Predjama castle.

After crossing the border, we'll reach Postojna cave, a major tourist attraction and one of Europe's renowned karst monuments. It is also home to the world's only underground electric train.

At Postojna, we will see the proteus, a famous cave inhabitant, as we navigate through tunnels, passageways, and galleries adorned with stalactites and stalagmites formed over thousands of years.

Next, we will visit Predjama castle, a significant fortress dating back to the 13th century, located on a rocky wall 123 meters high. We'll discuss the architectural techniques of the Middle Ages used in its construction and the historical context of having a fortress by a cave entrance.

The castle once served as a refuge for Erasmus de Lueg, and we will share details about his connection to the castle during the tour.

After five hours exploring these Slovenian attractions, we will conclude our day.
