Learn about various fish species from the Amazon and Moxeño plains on our tour of the Fish Fauna Museum in Beni, including the famous pacu fish.
You will be picked up from your hotel at the scheduled time and driven to the Campus of the Autonomous University of Beni in Trinidad.
At the Fish Fauna Museum, you will explore a significant collection of fish from the Amazonian rivers and the lagoons of the Moxeño plains.
The tour will cover endemic species from the Ibare, Mamoré, Madre de Dios, and Madera Rivers, all tributaries of the Amazon River.
The museum features 446 species of fish, classified by characteristics such as weight, with some specimens reaching up to 330 pounds (150 kilograms).
Among the species on display is the pacu, recognized for its nickname testicle-biting fish, along with other species like surubí or shoefish, and a specimen of bufeo, a freshwater dolphin.
