Fish Fauna Museum Tour in Beni
Join us for a tour at the Fish Fauna Museum in Beni, where you will explore various fish species from the Amazon and Moxeño plains, including the notable pacu fish.
At the scheduled time, you will be picked up from your hotel for a drive to the Campus of the Autonomous University of Beni in Trinidad.
Upon arrival, you will visit the Fish Fauna Museum, which displays an extensive collection of fish from the Amazonian rivers and the lagoons of the Moxeño plains.
During the tour, we will examine endemic species from the Ibare, Mamoré, Madre de Dios and Madera Rivers, all of which are tributaries of the Amazon River.
The museum features 446 species of fish classified by weight, with some reaching up to 330 pounds (150 kilograms).
Among the species showcased is the pacu, related to the piranha and known by the nickname testicle-biting fish. You will also see the surubí and the shoefish, along with a specimen of the bufeo, a freshwater dolphin.
Following the museum visit, you will be returned to your hotel within 1 hour of pickup.
