Ibare-Mamoré Protected Area Guided Tour
At 8 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Trinidad and head to Puerto Ballivián, located 5 miles (8 kilometers) away, the gateway to the protected area.
We will board a boat to cruise the Ibaré River for 2 hours, known as the River of the Birds. We will visit Loma Suárez and the community of San Carlos, where we will see the Mapajo natural monument and the tropical plant crops.
Wildlife viewing will include endemic Amazon species such as the Manguari heron, bato, and river heron. We will continue to the mouth of the Mamoré River to observe freshwater dolphins and swim in warm water.
A picnic lunch will be provided before returning to Trinidad, with hotel drop-off at 4 pm.
2-Day Tour
This option includes an additional day of exploration in the Ibare-Mamoré Municipal Protected Area.
After lunch on the boat, we will return to the community of San Carlos where we will have dinner with Florencio the farmer, followed by a night of camping in the Bolivian Amazon.
The next day includes breakfast and a hike around the Usuni Lagoon for sightseeing and sport fishing. We will eat the catch for lunch before returning to Puerto Ballivián and your hotel in the afternoon.
