Explore the Jesuit Missions in Moxos and visit the reductions of San Javier and San Pedro on our day trip, including the Coitarama Lagoon.

Moxos Jesuit Missions & Coitarama Lagoon

At 6 am, pickup will be from your hotel in Trinidad to head to the towns of San Javier and San Pedro, known for their Jesuit reductions in the Moxos province of southern Bolivia.

The first stop is San Javier, situated on the right bank of the Mamoré River. Here, we will visit the Church of San Javier and learn about its history, followed by a breakfast break.

Next, we will arrive at the reduction of San Pedro, where we will admire the restored church and enjoy a lunch of fried fish or dried meat with a fruity drink.

After lunch, we will proceed to Coitarama Lagoon, also called Pistola Lake. Wildlife in the area includes insects, endemic birds, and local mammals.

If weather conditions prevent access to the lake, we will visit the Ipuru River, where you can spot freshwater dolphins.

We will return to Trinidad and drop you off at your hotel around 6 pm.
