Private Excursion from Trinidad

If you're staying in Trinidad, take the chance to explore key locations with a private excursion! All include hotel pickup and drop off, transportation by bus or minibus, and an English-speaking guide. Details of the itineraries are below:

Ibare-Mamoré Protected Area Tour

Starting at 8 am, we head to Puerto Ballivián, the access point to the Ibare-Mamoré Municipal Protected Area. A boat will take us on a 2.5-hour journey on the Ibare River to where it meets the Mamoré River, with stops in Loma Suarez and San Carlos.

After the boat ride, we will walk through tropical crops, observing local fauna such as cocoi herons, jabirus, and yellow-spotted river turtles. We will then sail to the Mamoré River's mouth to see the Amazon river dolphins and swim in the warm waters.

The excursion concludes with hotel drop-off at 4 pm.

Jesuit Missions of Moxos + Coitarama Lagoon

Pickup is at 6 am for a visit to San Javier and San Pedro, two historic Jesuit settlements in Moxos. We’ll tour the church at San Javier and then proceed to the San Pedro reductions, where there is free time for lunch.

Post-lunch, we’ll visit Coitarama Lagoon to observe local wildlife. If conditions are unfavorable, we’ll go to the Ipuru River to see buffaloes or freshwater dolphins.

Hotel drop-off is around 6 pm.

San Ignacio de Moxos Excursion

The excursion starts at 6 am, heading to San Ignacio de Moxos. We’ll visit the Museum of Moxos to learn about local folklore and the Musical Archive of Moxos, an important institution in the town. You'll visit the church of San Ignacio before having free time for lunch.

After lunch, we’ll tour a luthier's workshop and end at the School of Music.

Hotel drop-off occurs in the late afternoon.
