Discover one of the first Jesuit missions constructed in Bolivia on our day trip to San Ignacio de Moxos. You'll spend either 1 or 2 days exploring this town and visiting its attractions.

San Ignacio de Moxos Day Trip

At 6 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Trinidad and head towards San Ignacio de Moxos, a traditional town in southern Bolivia.

Upon arrival, we'll stop for breakfast before beginning our tour of this former Jesuit colony.

We will first visit the Moxos Museum to learn about the province's folklore, then continue to the Musical Archive, which houses unique objects, including scores of 18th-century music.

Next, we'll see San Ignacio Church, built by the Jesuits in the 17th century, where we will observe typical Jesuit architecture and interior canvases depicting biblical stories.

After visiting the church, we'll have lunch at a local restaurant followed by a visit to the Cabildo Indigenal, responsible for the village's administrative management.

We'll then stop at a luthier's workshop to see how wood is transformed into art, followed by a visit to the School of Music, featuring its choir, orchestra, and the Moxos Ensemble.

After a day of exploration, we'll return you to your hotel in the evening.

2-Day Tour

If you prefer, you can book the 2-day tour of San Ignacio de Moxos. This option includes a visit to the Turino handicraft centre to learn about traditional handicrafts before spending the night at a local hotel.

The next morning, we'll have breakfast at the hotel and then walk to Isireri Lagoon, discussing the mysterious legend associated with it. You'll have free time for swimming before returning to San Ignacio for lunch. In the afternoon, we will depart for Trinidad and drop you off at your hotel.
