Tromsø Snowshoe Hike

Explore the icy landscapes of the outskirts of Tromsø by snowshoeing across the frozen wilderness, a form of hiking common in Nordic countries.

Snowshoe Hike Details

The tour will begin at the designated time at the entrance to the Scandic Ishavshotel in Tromsø. Participants will dress in special thermal clothing (available on request), strap on snowshoes, and select ski poles suited for their height.

The hike will last for 3 hours through the arctic wilderness, with a guide leading on the best trails in the area. The guide will share interesting facts about this part of Norway. A picnic lunch will be included at a scenic viewpoint.

The 5-hour tour will conclude at the starting point, where participants can change back into their normal clothes and warm up in front of a fire.

Additional Info

Please note that during October and November, there may be no snow, or the existing snow may not be adequate for snowshoeing. If this is the case, a hiking route in the area will be taken without using snowshoes.
