Tropea Guided Tour

At the appointed time, we'll meet at Largo San Michele to begin this guided tour of Tropea. We will explore the quaint alleys and architecture of the city, known for the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola, its historic center, and white sandy beaches.

We will stop in front of the Cathedral of Maria Santissima di Romania, constructed in the 12th century by the Normans. During the 17th century, it was transformed into the Baroque style and extended by 12 meters. The cathedral has endured damage from multiple earthquakes and has undergone numerous restorations.

Continuing our tour, we will visit the most beautiful viewpoints in Tropea. Please bring your camera for the stunning views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and its blue waters.

We will also approach the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola, with written records of the monastery dating back to the 11th century. It is believed that the rock was inhabited by hermits between the 7th and 8th centuries. Various interesting facts will be shared throughout the tour.

After two and a half hours, we will conclude the guided tour of Tropea back at the meeting point.
