Explore the unique characteristics of the pre-Columbian Moche civilization as you traverse the Moche region, where ancient customs endure through time.

Moche Cultural Exploration

Your journey will commence with a pickup from your accommodation in Trujillo at the designated time, setting the stage for an enlightening tour of the Moche region, situated in the northwestern part of Peru.

The Mochica people thrived in this area between the 2nd and 5th centuries, leaving behind significant cultural landmarks along the Moche River valley. Our first destination will be the Museum of the Huaca de Moche, where we will delve into the mysteries of these iconic structures.

Next, we will proceed to the Huaca del Sol y de la Luna Archaeological Complex, regarded as the ancient hub of the Mochica civilization. Here, you will witness the remarkable huacas, step-pyramids that functioned as burial sites. While wandering through the sanctuary, uncover the stories concealed within its decorated walls, which depict rituals and warfare.

Moche, a key waypoint on the "Moche Route", a scenic trail that commemorates this ancient society. You will have some leisure time to enjoy lunch at your discretion.

After savoring your meal, we will visit the Itinerant Museum and admire the murals within the town. The day will conclude with a return journey to Trujillo, where we expect to drop you off at your hotel after approximately 7.5 hours of enriching experiences.
