Pyramids of the Sun + The Moon Tour

Travel back in time to the origins of the Moche civilisation, one of the oldest in America, on this tour of the temples of the Sun and the Moon.

Description

At the designated time, we'll meet at Jiron Orbegoso Street. From there, we'll proceed to the Moche countryside to view structures belonging to the Moche culture.

Upon arrival, we'll see the walls of the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Moon. Participants will have the opportunity to enter these structures and explore the different levels, observing the colors of the walls that feature paintings with warrior and religious motifs, including depictions of the human sacrifices performed in the temple's central square.

The tour will highlight the erosion effects on the temples due to natural elements and discuss the history of illegal looters who have plundered these sites. After approximately an hour and a half of exploration, we will travel to the village of Huaca Chica, where participants will have two hours of free time for a meal at a local restaurant.

Following the visit to Huaca Chica, we'll return to the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo and conclude the tour approximately 4 hours after starting.
