Pyramids of the Sun + The Moon Tour

Travel back in time to the origins of the Moche civilisation, one of the oldest in America, on this tour of the temples of the Sun and the Moon.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Jiron Orbegoso Street. Once gathered, we will head to the Moche countryside to see the structures of the Moche culture.

Upon arrival, we will see the enormous walls of the Temple of the Sun and the nearby Temple of the Moon. We will enter these constructions and walk through different levels, observing the wall paintings with warrior and religious motifs that depict rites and ceremonies, including human sacrifices made in the central square.

Throughout the tour, we will examine the effects of erosion due to wind and rain, and learn about the history of illegal looters who plundered these sites. After an hour and a half of exploration, we will proceed to the village of Huaca Chica, allowing two hours of free time for a meal at a local restaurant.

After visiting Huaca Chica, we will return to the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo and conclude the tour approximately 4 hours after starting.
