Travel back in time to the origins of the Moche civilisation, one of the oldest in America, on this tour of the temples of the Sun and the Moon.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Jiron Orbegoso Street. Once gathered, we'll head towards the Moche countryside to see the structures that belonged to the Moche culture.

Upon arrival, we'll view the enormous walls of the Temple of the Sun and the nearby Temple of the Moon. We'll enter these constructions and walk through their levels, observing the colours of the walls, which still preserve paintings with warrior and religious motifs. These murals depict rites and ceremonies practiced by the Mochicas, including human sacrifices in the central square of the temple.

During the tour, you’ll see the erosion effects due to weather, and while admiring the Temple of the Sun, we will discuss the history of illegal looters who previously plundered these sites.

After an hour and a half of exploration, we will proceed to the village of Huaca Chica, where you'll have two hours of free time to enjoy a meal at a local restaurant.

After visiting Huaca Chica, we will return to the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo, concluding the tour approximately 4 hours after it started.
