Embark on an exploration of the pre-Columbian heritage of Peru with this tour featuring the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, Huanchaco, and the Chan Chan citadel.
Tour Overview
We will gather at the specified time at the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo. From this central location, we will proceed to the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, Huanchaco, and the Chan Chan citadel to begin our journey.
Our first stop will be at Huaca Arco Iris and Huaca Esmeralda. After immersing ourselves in these ancient huacas, we will continue to the ancient citadel of Chan Chan, a remarkable construction of the Chimú civilization. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it stands as one of the largest adobe cities in the Americas. During our visit, we will also explore the Palace of Nik An.
Following this, we will proceed to Huanchaco, where you will have some leisure time for lunch. Once we finish our meal, we will visit the Museum Huaca de Moche before making our way to the archaeological site of the Sun and Moon Pyramids. As we walk among the remnants of these historic sanctuaries, you will gain insight into life in the Trujillo Valley during the pre-Columbian Moche period.
We will return to our starting point after approximately 8 hours of enriching experiences.
