Step back into the colonial era of Trujillo as we explore the vibrant avenues of this city, often referred to as "The City of Eternal Spring". Throughout our journey, we will encounter the key historic structures and landmarks, including the notable UNT Archaeological Museum.
Trujillo Guided Tour
Our adventure will begin at the designated meeting point of 467 Jiron Orbegoso Street, where we will embark on a thorough guided exploration of Trujillo. Our first stop will be the Plaza de Armas, a historically rich area recognized as the most ancient and symbolic public square in this Peruvian town.
As we uncover the narrative of its establishment, we will appreciate the monument dedicated to Liberty, surrounded by four sculptures symbolizing the foundational pillars of Trujillo: art, science, commerce, and health. From the Plaza de Armas, our route will take us to the vibrant Cathedral of Trujillo, a 17th-century structure that replaced the original one lost to an earthquake.
Next, we will visit the church of La Merced, located in the town's historic center, followed by a journey to the Emancipation House, where we will discover how Trujillo gained independence seven months ahead of Lima.
Our final destination will be the Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology, and History of the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, where an array of artifacts will provide insights into the city's intriguing past.
We will conclude our tour approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes after our initial gathering, returning to the starting location.
