Trujillo Guided Tour
We will meet at 467 Jiron Orbegoso Street to initiate a guided tour of Trujillo. The first stop will be the Plaza de Armas, a historically significant area and the town's oldest public space. Here, we will observe the monument to Liberty along with four accompanying sculptures representing art, science, commerce, and health, essential elements for Trujillo's foundation.
Next, we will proceed to the Cathedral of Trujillo, dating back to the 17th century after the previous structure was destroyed by an earthquake. Our tour continues to the church of La Merced located in the historic center, followed by a visit to the Emancipation House, where we will learn about Trujillo's independence achieved seven months prior to Lima's.
Our final destination will be the Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History of the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, featuring a collection of artifacts that showcase the city's history. We will conclude the tour by returning to the starting point approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes after our initial meeting.
