Trujillo Guided Tour
We'll meet at the indicated time at 467 Jiron Orbegoso Street to begin a guided tour of Trujillo. The tour includes a visit to the historic Plaza de Armas, significant as the town's oldest public space, where we'll observe the monument to Liberty and accompanying sculptures representing art, science, commerce, and health.
Next, we'll visit the Cathedral of Trujillo, rebuilt in the 17th century after an earthquake. Our tour continues to the church of La Merced in the historic center, followed by the Emancipation House, where we will learn about Trujillo's independence achieved seven months before Lima.
Finally, we'll explore the Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History of the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, featuring a collection that reflects the city's historical background. After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, we'll return to the starting point.
