Tour Details

At the indicated time, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Tunis for your guided tour of Carthage and Sidi Bou Said. The first stop is the archaeological site of ancient Carthage, starting at Byrsa hill, where you'll view the ruins of this historic capital founded by the Phoenicians in the 9th century BCE. Your English-speaking guide will lead you through the remains, highlighting significant ruins such as the commercial and military ports critical to Carthaginian control over the seas.

Next, you will visit the Tophet of Carthage, a sacred site that served as a cemetery dedicated to the deities Tanit and Baal, where you can observe surviving Carthaginian funerary and religious artwork.

Following the Tophet, you will travel to the coastal town of Sidi Bou Said, a ten-minute drive from Carthage. As you explore its whitewashed houses with blue doors and windows, enjoy views of the Mediterranean Sea from various viewpoints. Sidi Bou Said is also known for its shops and cafes, where you can shop for souvenirs or enjoy a beverage while taking in the scenery.

After your time in Sidi Bou Said, you'll be returned to your hotel in Tunis, completing a total duration of 4 hours.
