Monastir & El Jem Tour Itinerary

At 8 am on the day of your tour, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Tunis for a three hour drive to the archaeological site of El Jem. Here, you will explore the Amphitheatre of El Jem, one of the best preserved Roman ruins in the world.

After visiting the amphitheatre, you'll learn about El Djem's history and its origins as a Carthaginian settlement. At approximately 1 pm, a typical lunch will be provided before continuing to Monastir, located a little over an hour away.

In Monastir, your tour will include the Mausoleum of Habib Bourguiba, the resting place of Tunisia's first President, and the historic Ribat of Monastir, a fortress built in the 8th century offering views of the Mediterranean. This site has also served as a filming location for notable movies.

Your guided tour will conclude with a return to Tunisia, ending at around 4 pm.
