Exploring the Lagoinha Ruins
We will convene at Rua Colonial in Ubatuba at the scheduled time to begin our exploration of the Lagoinha ruins.
This leisurely hike will guide us to the remains of an old mill at Fazenda Bom Retiro, a designated archaeological site that has been honored as Historical Heritage by the State of São Paulo since 1985, aimed at preserving Ubatuba's historical significance.
During our tour, we will delve into the history of this site, highlighting its role as one of the major producers of coffee, sugar, and brandy in Brazil. Additionally, historians propose that the ruins might be remnants of Brazil's first glass factory. Truly captivating!
As we leave the Lagoinha ruins behind, we will continue our hike toward the stunning Velo da Novia waterfall, a picturesque spot to appreciate the breathtaking scenery of this Brazilian landscape.
Our hiking excursion will conclude after approximately three hours, as we return to our initial meeting point.
