Tour Details
We will meet at Mirador de El Salvador to start our tour. Úbeda's historic center is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our journey begins at the Paseo de la Rotonda de los Miradores, where we will reach a lookout point for views of Valle del Guadalquivir. You will also see the Hospital de los Honrados Viejos del Salvador as we walk through the narrow streets.
Next, we will arrive at the Plaza de Vázquez de Molina, which features the Palacio del Deán Ortega and the Sacra Capilla del Salvador, where we will enter to view the chapel's interior. This 16th-century chapel provides insights into local culture and legends.
Continuing, we will visit the Palacio de Francisco de los Cobos, honoring the Secretary of State to Emperor Charles V, who significantly influenced the city's development. We will then move to Gradeta de Santo Tomás, where the ruins of Saint Thomas the Apostle and the Jewish Houses are located, followed by a visit to the Convento de San Miguel, associated with the Discalced Carmelites and St. John of the Cross.
Our next stop is Plaza Primer de Mayo, previously a market square. On the return, we will walk along Calle Real back to the Plaza de Vázquez de Molina, completing the 2.5-hour tour of Úbeda.
