Numerous architectural styles, 800 years of history, and views of the Guadalquivir Valley await on this guided tour of San Lorenzo Church. The 1-hour tour includes exploration of the nave, crypts, and a viewpoint.
Tour Details
We will meet at the church entrance at the scheduled time and start the guided tour of one of Úbeda's historic buildings. San Lorenzo Church, built on the Almohad wall, features crypts, a parapet, and a bell tower.
Upon entering, we will observe the nave, sacristy, and the doorway leading to the sacristy, along with the murals inside. The ceiling, which dates back to the Mudejar period, features an alfarje panelled design.
San Lorenzo Church has been closed for almost a century and is currently undergoing restoration and archaeological work. The building showcases heritage from various cultural and architectural styles.
After exploring the crypts, we will return to the main floor and head outside to the viewpoint next to the church. Here, we will enjoy views of Úbeda's hills and the Guadalquivir Valley, framed by orchards and white farmhouses.
In the distance, we can see the Cazorla and Segura mountain ranges. The tour concludes with the scenic sunset casting a gentle golden hue over the domes and towers in the World Heritage Site of Úbeda's old town.
