San Lorenzo Church Guided Visit
Our San Lorenzo Church Guided Visit lasts 1 hour, beginning at the entrance to the church at the scheduled time. We'll explore this historic building, built on the Almohad wall, which features crypts, a parapet, and a bell tower.
During the visit, we'll see the church's nave, sacristy, and the doorway leading to the sacristy, as well as the internal murals. Notably, the alfarje panelled ceiling dates back to the Mudejar period. The church has been closed for nearly a century, currently undergoing restoration and archaeological work. It showcases a rich heritage from Romanesque to Baroque styles.
After visiting the crypts, we will return to the main floor and step outside to reach the viewpoint adjacent to the church. Here, we will enjoy views of Úbeda's hills and the Guadalquivir Valley, characterized by orchards and white farmhouses. In the distance, the Cazorla and Segura mountain ranges are visible. The visit concludes with a picturesque sunset illuminating Úbeda's old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
