Join us for a day trip from Ushuaia to explore the Beagle Channel, including a visit to the home of the only fisherwoman in the area and a seafood lunch.
Activity Details
We will pick you up at your hotel in Ushuaia at the designated time and head toward the Beagle Channel. The first stop will be at the Victoria Lagoon for refreshments, followed by a stop at Brown Bay to see its flag trees, affected by southwesterly winds.
Next, we will reach Puerto Almanza, the primary king crab fishing port in the Beagle Channel. From there, we'll walk approximately 1 kilometer to visit Diana's home, the only female captain in the Beagle Channel. Diana will share her story of leaving her previous life for this remote location to reconnect with nature, discussing her journey as an artisanal fisherwoman and her solitary life away from society.
Diana will also provide insights into local gastronomy, explaining the preparation of traditional Beagle Channel dishes using ingredients sourced from the sea.
We will enjoy a 4-course meal, accompanied by a glass of wine and water, before returning to your hotel in Ushuaia approximately 8 hours after pickup.
