Join us for a day trip from Ushuaia to explore the Beagle Channel, including a visit to the home of the only fisherwoman in the area and a seafood lunch.
Activity Details
At the indicated time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Ushuaia and head toward the Beagle Channel. We will make a stop at Victoria Lagoon for refreshments and at Brown Bay to see its flag trees, shaped by southwesterly winds.
We will arrive at Puerto Almanza, the primary king crab fishing port. From here, we will walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach Diana's house, the only female captain in the Beagle Channel. Diana will share her story about moving to this remote location to reconnect with nature and her journey as an artisanal fisherwoman, describing her solitary life away from society.
Upon welcoming us, Diana will provide insight into local gastronomy, explaining how traditional dishes of the Beagle Channel are prepared using ingredients sourced from the sea.
We will then enjoy a 4-course menu accompanied by a glass of wine and water while having a conversation with Diana.
After the meal, we will return you to your hotel in Ushuaia, approximately 8 hours after pickup.
