At this lunch at the Beagle Channel, we'll be welcomed into the home of the only fisherwoman in the area to taste some traditional seafood dishes.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ushuaia and head north toward the Beagle Channel. Along the way, we'll stop at the Victoria Lagoon for refreshments and at Brown Bay to view its flag trees, which are affected by southwesterly winds.
We'll then arrive at Puerto Almanza, the main king crab fishing port in the Beagle Channel. From here, we'll walk approximately 1 kilometer to Diana's house, the only female captain in the area, located in a rocky enclave by the canal. Diana will share her story of why she chose this remote lifestyle as an artisanal fisherwoman and her experiences living away from society.
After welcoming us, Diana will provide insights into local gastronomy, explaining how traditional dishes of the Beagle Channel are prepared using mostly local seafood.
After this explanation, we'll enjoy a 4-course menu along with a glass of wine and water. We will then return you to your hotel in Ushuaia, approximately 8 hours after pickup.
