Pulacayo Excursion
Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Uyuni at the scheduled time, as we make our way to Pulacayo, situated just 6 miles (9.6 km) from Uyuni.
This quaint town is home to historic iron locomotives that evoke memories of old western films, which once facilitated the transport of silver mined from the surrounding areas. Have you ever heard of the infamous bank robbers Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid? During our exploration, we'll uncover stories of their remarkable train heists and the connections they have with this region.
As we wander through this outdoor train museum, you'll witness how history has been preserved in time, and you'll gain insights into the significance of Pulacayo's rich mining heritage, which played a crucial role in the economic development of Bolivia in the early 20th century.
Following our visit to Pulacayo, we will journey towards Tomave, renowned for its impressive colonial church and breathtaking natural settings. The adventure continues as we make our way to the hot springs of Tomave, nestled within the distinctive Altiplano landscape of central Bolivia.
Next on our itinerary are the stunning Warmy Kasilla green lagoon and the serene Orqo Kasilla light blue lagoon. These breathtaking natural attractions are found at nearly 5,000 meters (16,404 ft) above sea level, presenting an unforgettable experience!
After an enriching day of 10 to 11 hours exploring Pulacayo, we will safely return to Uyuni and ensure you are dropped off at your hotel.
