Three-Day Journey through Salar de Uyuni

Day 1

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel, the airport, or the bus terminal in Uyuni. The first destination on our itinerary is the fascinating Train Cemetery, where you'll find a collection of decommissioned trains and locomotives from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Next, we will visit the quaint indigenous village of Colchani, where you'll gain insight into the traditional processes involved in producing and refining iodized salt.

As we journey onwards, the breathtaking Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat on Earth, will reveal itself. We will traverse this vast expanse of brilliant white, exploring key features such as the salt piles and the world’s inaugural salt hotel.

After an engaging exploration, we will enjoy a meal featuring Bolivian delicacies, all while being surrounded by these extraordinary landscapes. Following lunch, there will be ample opportunity to capture the stunning scenery and its mirror-like reflections.

In the afternoon, we will trek for a while around Incahuasi Island, located within the salt flat. Here, massive cacti soar upwards, some reaching heights of 30 feet. As the day concludes, prepare to be mesmerized by a breathtaking sunset over the Salar de Uyuni, a memory that will last a lifetime!

In the evening, we’ll share a meal in Candelaria or San Juan, where we will stay for our first night before gearing up for tomorrow’s adventures.

Day 2

The second day starts with breakfast and an early departure for a visit to the Eduardo Abaroa National Reserve, showcasing its diverse lagoons and deserts that will leave you in awe!

We will then reach the town of San Juan, known for its unparalleled views of the active Ollagüe Volcano. Following a tasty lunch, we will explore the stunning lakes of Cañapa, Charchota, Honda, and Hedionda, where you can expect to spot the lovely pink flamingos.

Continuing our journey, we will pass through the Siloli Desert, admiring unique natural formations, including the remarkable Stone Tree, fashioned by years of wind erosion. Our day's final stop will be the Colorada Lagoon, famous for its striking red hue.

After a day filled with adventure, we will retreat to our lodging in Huayllajara for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Day 3

We will start the last day with breakfast before heading out to witness the nearby geysers, where hot water and steam shoot forth from the earth—an incredible sight! Next, we will travel to the breathtaking Salvador Dali Desert, named for its resemblance to the famous artist’s work.

From there, we will visit the saltwater lagoons of Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca, marveling at their vibrant colors. We’ll also explore the Valle de Rocas, known for its curious natural rock formations, and make a stop at San Cristóbal, a small town featuring one of Bolivia’s oldest churches and its largest gold mine.

Your exciting three-day expedition around the Salar de Uyuni will conclude with a return to your hotel in Uyuni at approximately 5:30 pm.
