Salar de Uyuni 3 Day Trip
Day 1
The tour begins with picking you up from your hotel, airport, or bus station in Uyuni. We will first visit the Train Cemetery, featuring abandoned trains from the late 19th and early 20th century. Next, we will stop at the indigenous community of Colchani to learn how iodized salt is processed traditionally.
We will then explore the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat in the world, including points of interest like the Salt Piles and the world's first salt hotel. After lunch, there will be time for photography of the unique landscapes. In the afternoon, we will trek around Incahuasi Island, populated with large cacti. We will conclude the day by watching the sunset over the salt flats.
Dinner will be served in Candelaria or San Juan, where we’ll stay overnight.
Day 2
The second day starts with breakfast before a tour of the Eduardo Abaroa National Reserve. We will visit San Juan, known for views of the active Ollagüe Volcano, followed by lunch and visits to lagoons inhabited by pink flamingos. We will pass through the Siloli Desert to see natural formations, ending at the striking Colorada Lagoon. Accommodation will be in Huayllajara.
Day 3
After breakfast, we will visit the nearby geysers and the Salvador Dali Desert. Next, we will explore the Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca and the Valle de Rocas, before stopping in San Cristóbal to see its historic church and gold mine. The tour concludes at your hotel in Uyuni around 5:30 pm.
