Salar de Uyuni 3 Day Trip

Day 1

After pickup from your hotel, airport, or bus station in Uyuni, the 3-day tour of the Salar de Uyuni begins. The first stop is the Train Cemetery, featuring abandoned trains from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Next, visit the indigenous community of Colchani to learn about traditional iodized salt production.

You will explore the Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat, discovering important sites such as the Salt Piles and the first salt hotel. Lunch will consist of Bolivian specialties amidst unique landscapes, followed by a trek around Incahuasi Island to view towering cacti and a sunset over the salt flats.

Dinner will take place in Candelaria or San Juan, where you will spend the night.

Day 2

On the second day, breakfast precedes a tour of the Eduardo Abaroa National Reserve. Visit San Juan for panoramic views of the active Ollagüe Volcano. After lunch, observe pink flamingos in Cañapa, Charchota, Honda, and Hedionda lakes. Continue through the Siloli Desert, stopping at the Colorada Lagoon for its red waters.

Accommodation will be in Huayllajara for the night.

Day 3

Breakfast is followed by visits to nearby geysers, and then to the Salvador Dali Desert, known for its scenic similarity to Dali's paintings. Next are the saltwater lagoons Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca. The final stop is San Cristóbal, home to one of Bolivia's oldest churches and the largest gold mine. The tour concludes back at your hotel in Uyuni around 5:30 pm.
