Description
Day 1
After being collected from Uyuni Airport, we will begin our adventure to the world's largest salt flat. Our first stop will be the Train Cemetery, where the remnants of numerous abandoned 20th-century trains lie in rusting silence.
Continuing our voyage, we will arrive at the charming village of Colchani, where we will visit both the local market and a salt processing facility managed by skilled artisans. Following this visit, we will reach the famous Uyuni salt flat, taking a leisurely stroll across this extraordinary location, which contains 60% of the planet's lithium reserves.
Within the salt flat, we will observe salt formations, natural water wells, and unique monuments, including one dedicated to the Dakar Rally. Our day will also feature a visit to the first-ever salt hotel, culminating in a picnic lunch on the salt flat, providing a truly distinct dining experience.
After lunch, we will head to Incahuasi Island, well-known for its towering cacti. Here, we will undertake a hike to one of the island's summits to relish panoramic views of the expansive salt desert—perfect for capturing memorable photographs!
As the day draws to a close, we will return to our hotel and then venture back out for a stunning sunset over the Uyuni salt flat—an experience to treasure forever!
Day 2
Awakening to the gentle light of dawn, we will savor a delicious breakfast before departing for Coqueza, a quaint town nestled at the foot of the Tunupa volcano. Here, we'll revel in the area's scenic beauty and delve into the Andean significance behind its name. Can you guess the meaning?
Upon reaching the base of Tunupa, we will board our vehicle for an excursion to the volcano's summit, where we will enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the Uyuni salt flat. Should you prefer, there is the option to ascend the volcano on foot.
After our exploration, we will return to the hotel, making intermittent stops to appreciate the natural splendor of this stunning region of Bolivia.
Day 3
Following a relaxed breakfast, we will prepare for our return journey. Once ready, we will board our vehicle and head back to our starting point.
We will conclude this memorable adventure upon arriving at the airport.
