Uyuni to La Paz: 4 Day Tour

Day 1: Uyuni - Coqueza

At 10:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel and travel in a jeep across the Bolivian Potosí. The first stop is the Uyuni train cemetery, followed by the village of Colchani to learn about salt production. After lunch, we will explore the Uyuni Salt Flat, including the Incahuasi viewpoint, then head to Coqueza for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Coqueza - Tunupa Volcano - Colcha K

We will start with a sunrise over the Uyuni Salt Flat, followed by breakfast. The day includes a visit to the Coqueza caves at the base of Tunupa Volcano, home to the Coqueza mummies. We will ascend the volcano and then proceed to the village of Colcha K for dinner and overnight accommodations.

Day 3: Colcha K - Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve

After breakfast, we will travel to the southern plains, passing through the Chiguana Salt Flat and the Ollague Volcano viewpoint. We will enter the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve, visiting Capaña and Hedionda lagoons before lunch. The day concludes with a visit to the Red Lagoon and overnight stay at the Polques Hot Springs.

Day 4: Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve - La Paz

We’ll wake up at dawn and visit the Sol de Mañana geysers before heading to Laguna Verde at the foot of Licanbur Volcano. After lunch in Villa Mar, we return to Uyuni, passing through mining villages like San Cristóbal. We will board a sleeper bus at 8:30 pm for La Paz, arriving at 5:30 am.

Rainy season

Currently, the rainy season limits access to the middle of the salt flat, allowing us to explore only 6 to 9 miles (10 to 15 kilometers) on the first day. This season lasts until around March or April.
