Uyuni to La Paz: 4 Day Tour

Day 1: Uyuni - Coqueza

At 10:30 am, pickup from your hotel in a jeep to travel through the Bolivian Potosí. Visit the Uyuni train cemetery to see steam engine remnants, then proceed to Colchani for insights into salt-making and handicrafts. After lunch, visit the Uyuni Salt Flat, the largest in the world, with views from the Incahuasi viewpoint. Dinner and overnight stay in Coqueza follow.

Day 2: Coqueza - Tunupa Volcano - Colcha K

Before dawn, observe the sunrise over Uyuni Salt Flat. After breakfast, visit the Coqueza caves at Tunupa Volcano to see the Coqueza mummies. Ascend the volcano and have lunch before traveling to the village of Colcha K for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 3: Colcha K - Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve

Breakfast and depart for the southern plains, crossing the Chiguana Salt Flat and visiting the Ollague Volcano's viewpoint. Enter Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve to see the Capaña and Hedionda lagoons, with lunch en route. Visit the Red Lagoon before dinner and stay at Polques Hot Springs.

Day 4: Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve - La Paz

After breakfast, visit Sol de Mañana and witness geothermal activity. Stop by Laguna Verde before lunch in Villa Mar. Return to Uyuni, passing through colonial mining villages. Depart Uyuni on a sleeper bus at 8:30 pm, arriving in La Paz at 5:30 am.

Rainy season

During the rainy season, access to the salt flat is limited to 6 to 9 miles (10 to 15 kilometers) on the first day, with the season lasting until approximately March or April.
