Fonte Baxa Garden Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we will meet at the Fonte Baxa Garden to begin our guided tour through this forest of Luarca. Expect to see various plant species including camellias, rhododendrons, holly, yews, birches, cedars, and chestnut trees.
Prepare to explore one of the largest private botanical gardens in Europe as we discuss its history and details about its founder, the Marquis of San Nicolás de Noras, José Rivera y Larraya.
During the tour, we will visit key areas within the garden, featuring plants from all over the world, leading to a unique experience that connects Spain to locations such as Japan and Lebanon.
We will also encounter various artistic features within the garden, including a fountain from the House of Alba, Roman columns, and the portico of a convent. This will enhance the experience.
After a 2-2.5 hour tour, we will conclude back at the starting point.
Tour with a Picnic
For a more enriching experience, you can choose the tour option with a picnic, which includes a portion of homemade meat or tuna pie, a sausage roll, a piece of fruit, a sweet, and water or soft drink. This picnic will be provided at the end of the visit for enjoyment inside the Fonte Baxa Garden.
A vegan picnic is also available, featuring a bottle of water, "La Galga" hummus made with green vegetables and chickpeas, seasonal vegetable crudités, bread, and "La Galga" chocolates with nuts and coconut topping.
