Montanejos Day Trip

Like walking in nature? On this day trip to Montanejos, we'll explore a thermal village in Castellón, where we'll take a hike and swim in the natural spa pools in the Fuente de los Baños.

Day Trip Details

We'll meet at the indicated time on Calle Ramón Llull, 21. From this meeting point in Valencia, we'll head north.

After a journey of around 1.5 hours, we'll arrive in Montanejos, a thermal town in the area of Alto Mijares, in the province of Castellón.

Upon arrival, we'll stroll through the town to see the Fuente de los Baños spa pools, where the water temperature is 23ºC (73ºF) year-round. This mineral-rich water is said to have health benefits and has a legend associated with its creation by the Muslim King Abu Zeit.

We'll then start a hiking route lasting approximately 4 hours along the River Mijares. The hike will lead us to Cueva Negra, notable for its geological significance.

Throughout the hike, we'll admire the surrounding mountain scenery, including the Mijares Canyon and Cirat Dam.

We'll conclude the hiking route back at the Fuente de los Baños pools, where you'll have 1.5 hours of free time to relax or eat snacks. Finally, we'll return to the centre of Montanejos and then back to the meeting point in Valencia, concluding this 8.5-hour day trip.
