Guided Tour of Valencia and the Silk Exchange
At the indicated time, we'll start our guided walk through the old town of Valencia in the Plaza de los Fueros, in front of the Serranos Towers. You'll learn about their historical significance, including their role during the Spanish Civil War. We will proceed to the elegant Plaza de San Lorenzo square to observe the exterior decoration of the Valencian Courts.
Next, we will visit the Plaza de Manises square, opposite the local government headquarters, and hear interesting stories about this institution as we walk to Plaza de la Virgen square. Here, we will admire the Basilica of the Virgen de los Desamparados church, the rear side of Valencia cathedral, and the Miguelete bell tower.
Later, we will visit the impressive Lonja de la Seda (Silk Exchange). Inside this medieval Gothic building, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, we will explore Valencia's history during the 15th and 16th centuries, a time of great commercial prosperity.
Our tour concludes in the surroundings of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento square, where we will see landmarks such as the Bull Ring and the Estación del Norte train station, a notable modernist building.
