Funicular Tour of Valparaiso

We'll pick you up from your accommodation at the indicated time to start our special tour of Valparaiso. The city is known for its funicular railways that run up the hillsides. We'll explore different neighbourhoods in these historic elevators.

During the tour, you'll learn about the origins of this form of public transport and have the opportunity to ride one of the oldest in Valparaiso. We'll visit Barrio Puerto and Cerro Cordillera using the Cordillera and San Agustin funiculars. You'll see them maneuvering up and down the hillside!

Next, we'll go to Cerro Alegre with its Concepción elevator, the first to be inaugurated and connected to a major viewpoint. There, we'll enjoy a panorama of the coastline.

By the end of our tour, we'll have ridden in the seven funiculars in Valparaiso that are still in operation today, as well as explored the hills they connect. Our tour lasts 4.5 hours.

Tour without Pickup

You can opt for the tour without pickup. In this case, meet the guide at Plaza Sotomayor in Valparaíso at 10:30 am or 3:30 pm (depending on your selection).
