During this guided walking tour of the hills in Valparaíso, we will explore the city that captivated Pablo Neruda, including an excursion to his house-museum, La Sebastiana, along with access to the scenic funiculars.

Tour Overview

We will convene at the prearranged time in Plaza Sotomayor to commence our walking adventure through Valparaíso, following the path of Pablo Neruda as we delve into the city's enchanting spots that inspired his poetry and ignited his connection to the ocean.

Our journey starts with a ride on the Ascensor Peral to Cerro Alegre, where we will be greeted by our first panoramic views of the city and its harbor. From Paseo Yugoslavo, we will gaze over the expansive bay, the same horizon that graces the poet's verses. Next, we’ll descend via the Bevestrello Stairs and stroll through Pasaje Gálvez, embracing the artistic ambiance that Neruda cherished.

Continuing the route, we will arrive at Paseo Atkinson, where Victorian colonials stand alongside the Lutheran and Anglican churches, which represent the significant immigrant influence on Valparaíso's character.

Our next destinations will guide us to Cerro Concepción and the Ascensor Reina Victoria, the heart of the city’s artistic and culinary scene, filled with inviting cafés and eateries.

We will conclude our exploration with a taxi ride to the Casa Museo La Sebastiana, Pablo Neruda's former residence. Each space, infused with his poetic spirit, provides insight into his fervor for life's experiences, his creative endeavors, and his fondness for Valparaíso.
