Join us for a gastronomic experience in Valparaiso with our Chilean Cooking Class & Lunch. Visit a traditional market, learn to cook a Chilean recipe, and taste the dish you prepare.

Valparaíso Chilean Cooking Class & Lunch

At 10 am, we will meet in Sotomayor Square, in front of the Valparaíso Fire Brigade. From there, we will take the metro to the Caleta Portales area to purchase ingredients for a Chilean ceviche.

First, we will visit a fresh fish stall to buy the main ingredients. Next, we will proceed to either the Cardonal Market or the Produce Fair on Avenida Argentina to select vegetables and lemons for a pisco sour, a traditional Chilean drink. We will also buy seasonal fruits for dessert.

Our next stop will be a traditional botillería, a shop specializing in liquors, where we will choose a bottle of wine for our meal. We will then head to a private home on Santo Domingo Hill, where a local family will lead our cooking class.

You will learn to make a typical Chilean ceviche, accompanied by pisco sour and traditional bread pancakes called churrascas. While enjoying your meal with local wine, the family will discuss Valparaíso's gastronomy and culinary traditions.

After lunch, we will take the metro back to the starting point and conclude the tour at 2 pm.
