Valparaíso Chilean Cooking Class & Lunch

Join us for a gastronomic experience in Valparaiso with our Chilean Cooking Class & Lunch. You will visit a traditional market, learn to cook a Chilean recipe, and taste the dish prepared.

We will meet at 10 am in Sotomayor Square, in front of the Valparaíso Fire Brigade headquarters. From there, we will take the metro to the Caleta Portales area to purchase the ingredients for a Chilean ceviche.

The first stop is a fresh fish stall to buy the main ingredients. Next, we will go to either the Cardonal Market or the Produce Fair on Avenida Argentina to select vegetables and lemons needed for pisco sour, a traditional Chilean drink. Seasonal fruits will also be bought for dessert.

We will then visit a traditional botillería to choose a bottle of wine for our meal. Afterward, we will head to a private home on Santo Domingo Hill where a local family will host our cooking class.

In this class, you will learn to make typical Chilean ceviche, accompanied by pisco sour and traditional bread pancakes called churrascas. While enjoying your meal with local wine, the family will discuss Valparaíso's gastronomy and culinary traditions.

After lunch, we will take the metro back to the starting point, concluding the experience at 2 pm.
