On this street art tour in Vancouver, participants will explore colourful murals and engage in a coffee workshop.
Description
We will meet at the designated time in Olympic Village Square, next to The Birds sculpture. This tour focuses on Vancouver's colourful murals.
Before viewing the murals, the group will attend an artisan coffee workshop at a local bar, where an expert will deliver a lesson on coffee bean roasting and share facts about coffee.
At the end of the workshop, participants will enjoy a coffee from the establishment before embarking on the walking tour to discover the city’s murals. The tour begins with an explanation of the distinction between graffiti and artistic murals, focusing on how these works represent a form of socio-cultural revindication.
Following a brief introduction, the group will walk to the murals in Mount Pleasant. This neighborhood features alternative shops and restaurants along with numerous urban murals. Participants will examine several murals, discussing the symbolism and messages conveyed by the artists.
Finally, participants will make a stop for a beer before returning to the starting point 3 hours after the tour begins.
