São Jorge Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in São Jorge at 9:30 am before starting the tour. First, we'll visit the Sete Fontes Forest Park, where we will see azaleas, fuchsia, and cryptomerias.

Next, we will explore the volcanic formations at Ponta dos Rosais, a steep cape that rises 650 feet above sea level. We will continue to the Fajã de João Dias viewpoint, showcasing the merging of dense vegetation and the Atlantic Ocean.

Following this, we will stop at the Beira Cheese Factory to see the cheese-making process and taste the product. At 12 pm, a break will be taken at a traditional restaurant for a buffet lunch.

After lunch, we will visit the church of Santa Barbara near Urzelina and travel through the São Jorge mountains to the Casa do Parque, where you can explore the geology, biodiversity, and heritage of the island.

We will then head to Fajã do Ouvidor and the Simão Dias natural pool, where we may have the opportunity to snorkel if the weather permits. Later, we will pass Fajã dos Cubres and Caldeira Santo Cristo, stopping at Fajã dos Vimes to view the coastal coffee plantations.

The tour concludes at Ponta do Topo with views of the Atlantic Ocean and Topo Island, returning to your hotel in São Jorge by 5:30 pm.
