São Jorge Journey

Your day begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in São Jorge at 9:30 am, setting the stage for a day rich in exploration. Our first destination is the Sete Fontes Forest Park, renowned for its diverse flora, featuring stunning azaleas, fuchsia, and towering cryptomerias.

Next, we'll proceed to the remarkable volcanic cliffs at Ponta dos Rosais, which rise majestically 650 feet above the ocean—an unparalleled sight! Aboard our minibus, we will then travel to the Fajã de João Dias viewpoint, where the vibrant greenery converges beautifully with the Atlantic.

Our journey continues with a visit to the Beira Cheese Factory, offering a glimpse into the cheese-making process along with a chance to sample this local delicacy. At noon, we will pause at a traditional eatery to indulge in a scrumptious buffet lunch.

Fully recharged, we will make our way to the Santa Barbara Church, located near the town of Urzelina. Following this, we will navigate through the stunning São Jorge mountains to visit the Casa do Parque, where you can delve into the island’s intriguing geology, rich biodiversity, and cultural heritage at your own pace.

As we continue, our next stop is at Fajã do Ouvidor and the Simão Dias natural pool. If conditions permit, you may have the chance to snorkel in the pristine waters, revealing the vibrant marine life that thrives in the Azores. We will also pass by Fajã dos Cubres, the Caldeira Santo Cristo, and take a moment at Fajã dos Vimes to appreciate its coffee plantations overlooking the sea.

Our final destination is Ponta do Topo, where breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Topo Island await. The tour will conclude back in São Jorge at 5:30 pm, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
