La Antigua & Cempoala Tour

After picking you up from your hotel in Veracruz at 9 am, we'll head for the archaeological site of Cempoala, one of the most important Mesoamerican sites and the capital of the Totonaca people's Totonacapan kingdom, which was the first urban settlement seen by the Spanish upon their arrival in the Americas.

We'll enjoy a guided tour of Cempoala and visit key structures, including the Sun Temple, the temple dedicated to the wind god Ehécatl, and the Temple of the Chimneys. Additionally, there may be a chance to observe the Ritual Ceremony of the Voladores de Papantla, a fertility dance involving young performers climbing and descending a pole as a tribute to nature and the spiritual universe.

Following the tour of Cempoala, we will proceed to La Antigua, noted as the first Spanish town in the Americas. Highlights include the Ermita del Rosario church, the Casa del Cabildo (the first Spanish city hall), and the residence of Hernán Cortés. An old tree with a unique story will also be revealed during the visit.

At the end of the tour, we will return you to your hotel in Veracruz, arriving at 2 pm.
