La Antigua & Cempoala Tour
After picking you up from your hotel in Veracruz at 9 am, we will head for the archaeological site of Cempoala, the capital of the Totonacapan kingdom and the first urban settlement encountered by the Spanish in the Americas.
Enjoy a guided tour of Cempoala and visit key structures, including the Sun Temple, the temple dedicated to the wind god Ehécatl, and the Temple of the Chimneys. You may also witness the Ritual Ceremony of the Voladores de Papantla, a fertility dance performed by four individuals who climb and descend from a pole.
After Cempoala, we will proceed to La Antigua, the first Spanish town in the Americas. Highlights include the Ermita del Rosario church, the Casa del Cabildo (the first Spanish city hall), and the house of Hernán Cortés. An old tree with an intriguing story will also be revealed during the tour.
At the end of the tour, we will return to your hotel in Veracruz, arriving by 2 pm.
