Take a tour through pre-Hispanic history and the world of coffee with our Xalapa & Coatepec Day Trip from Veracruz. You'll visit the main monuments of both cities accompanied by an expert English speaking guide.

Xalapa & Coatepec Day Trip

At 8:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Veracruz and drive north to Xalapa, the capital of the State of Veracruz.

First, we'll visit the El Lencero Museum, which has a rich history. It served as a residence for one of Hernán Cortés' soldiers and for travelers, as well as the residence of former president Antonio López de Santa Anna. In the museum, we'll see furniture, personal belongings of the former president, gardens, and coffee plantations.

We will then head to the centre of Xalapa to visit the Government Palace, Bishop Guízar and Valencia Cathedral, and the University campus. Additionally, we will visit the Xalapa Museum of Anthropology, showcasing utensils from pre-Hispanic cultures such as the Olmec, Totonaca, and Huasteca.

Next, we'll proceed to Coatepec, known as Mexico's 'magical town', primarily due to its coffee. We will tour the Interactive Coffee Museum, learn about coffee production in the region, and taste different types of coffee.

At 6:30 pm, we will begin our return to your hotel in Veracruz, arriving around 8 pm.
