Xalapa, Xico and Coatepec Tour
We'll begin our tour in Xalapa, the capital of the state, where we'll visit the ex-hacienda El Lencero. This site features large coffee plantations, beautiful gardens, and a lake. The tour includes viewing period furniture, antiques, and belongings of Antonio Lopez de Santana. Following this visit, we'll enjoy a panoramic tour of notable locations in the city such as the Government Palace, Cathedral, University Zone, Paseo de los Lagos, and Juarez Park.
Next, we head to Xico, a town rich in ancestral traditions at 2,800 meters above sea level. Highlights include the 16th-century Parish Church of Maria Magdalena and the Patio de las Palomas, showcasing over 400 embroidered dresses. The streets are traditionally decorated for patron saint festivities, and visitors can taste local cuisine like mole xiqueño while strolling through cobbled streets. We will also visit the Texolo Waterfall, surrounded by coffee plantations and haciendas.
Afterwards, we will drive to Coatepec, located at 1,250 meters above sea level, known for its high-altitude coffee. We'll visit the coffee museum for a tasting and learn about different coffee types.
Finally, after 11 hours of activity, we'll end the tour.
