Xalapa, Xico and Coatepec Tour
Come and explore three towns in Veracruz: Xalapa, Xico, and Coatepec. The tour begins in Xalapa, the capital of the state, with a visit to the ex-hacienda El Lencero, featuring extensive coffee plantations, gardens, and a lake. The site includes period furniture, antique objects, and artifacts belonging to Antonio Lopez de Santana, a former president of Mexico. A panoramic tour of the city will cover significant locations such as the Government Palace, Cathedral, University Zone, Paseo de los Lagos, and Juarez Park.
Next, we travel to Xico, noted for its traditions and legends at an altitude of 2,800 meters. Highlights include the 16th-century Parish Church of Maria Magdalena and the Patio de las Palomas, showcasing over 400 embroidered dresses of the patron saint. We will wander the cobbled streets and sample local cuisine, including the famous mole xiqueño. The visit to Texolo Waterfall features natural beauty along with views of coffee plantations and haciendas where the guide will provide suggestions.
Finally, we drive to Coatepec, situated at 1,250 meters above sea level, known for its premium coffee. A stop at the coffee museum includes a tasting and insights into different coffee varieties. The tour concludes after 11 hours of activity.
