On our day trip from Verín, you'll explore the Portuguese town of Chaves and its surrounding areas, learning about its history and monuments.

Chaves Day Trip

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Verín in a 4x4 or jeep to cross the border into Portugal, with a travel time of 30 minutes.

Upon arrival, we'll walk through Chaves, starting with the medieval castle of Chaves, home to a military museum and dating back to pre-Roman times. Next, we will visit the defensive structures of São Francisco and São Neutel, built in the 17th century.

We will proceed to the Roman bridge over the Tâmega River, commissioned by Trajan, the first Hispano-Roman emperor, which includes a 1st-century column with inscriptions. Our tour concludes with a visit to the Roman thermal baths in Chaves, known for having some of the warmest medicinal waters in Europe.

After a 3-hour 30-minute tour, we will return to Verín and drop you off at your hotel.
