On our day trip from Verín, you'll explore the Portuguese town of Chaves and its surrounding areas, focusing on its notable monuments and history.

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Verín in a 4x4 or a jeep to cross the border into Portugal, with a travel time of 30 minutes.

Upon arrival, we'll walk through the town to visit its emblematic places. We will begin by admiring the façade of the medieval castle of Chaves, which houses a military museum and dates from pre-Roman times, with reinforcement during the Muslim occupation.

Next, we'll visit the outside areas of the forts of São Francisco and São Neutel, built in the 17th century. From there, we will proceed to the Roman bridge over the Tâmega River, constructed by Trajan, the first Hispano-Roman emperor, along with a column commemorating its construction at the end of the 1st century.

To conclude our tour, we'll visit the Roman thermal baths in Chaves, known for having some of the warmest medicinal waters in Europe.

After a 3-hour 30-minute tour, we will return to Verín and take you back to your hotel.
