When booking, you can choose between two different options. Both start at Eurocidade Chaves-Verín Headquarters, include an English-speaking guide, and end back at the starting point.

Chaves, Boticas & Montalegre Tour

We'll meet at the indicated time to cross the border with Portugal and head towards Alto Tâmega, part of the Trás-os-Montes region.

First, we'll visit the village of Montalegre and its 12th-century fortress. We will also visit the Ecomuseum of Montalegre to learn about the history and heritage of the area.

Next, we will explore Boticas and visit the Rural Museum, focusing on the agricultural history of the town. An hour of free time for lunch will be provided before we proceed.

Finally, we will visit Chaves to see its medieval castle, declared a National Monument, the Roman bridge of Trajan, and the thermal baths of Chaves.

We will conclude the tour by returning to the starting point.

Chaves, Valpaços & Vila Pouca de Aguiar Tour

This option includes the visit to Chaves and additional sites in Trás-os-Montes.

We'll discover Vila Pouca de Aguiar and visit Parque das Pedras Salgadas. In Valpaços, we will visit the Wine Museum to learn about the town's winemaking tradition. You can select which areas to explore.
