When booking, you can choose between two options. Both start at Eurocidade Chaves-Verín Headquarters, include an English-speaking guide, and end back at the starting point.

Chaves, Boticas & Montalegre Tour

We'll meet at the indicated time to cross the border with Portugal and head towards Alto Tâmega, part of Trás-os-Montes. First, we'll visit the village of Montalegre and its 12th-century fortress, followed by the Ecomuseum of Montalegre to learn about its history and heritage.

Next, we'll visit Boticas, famous for its stone houses and charming streets. Here, we will go to the Rural Museum to explore Boticas' agricultural past, with an hour of free time for lunch before continuing the tour.

Finally, we'll visit Chaves, where we'll see the medieval castle, a National Monument, and cross the Roman bridge of Trajan, along with the thermal baths of Chaves. We'll conclude the tour by returning to the starting point.

Chaves, Valpaços & Vila Pouca de Aguiar Tour

This option includes Chaves and introduces other notable places in Trás-os-Montes. We'll explore Vila Pouca de Aguiar, visiting Parque das Pedras Salgadas, and Valpaços, where we'll see the Wine Museum and learn about the town's winemaking tradition. You can choose which areas to visit.
