Why Visit the Austrian Theatermuseum?
The Austrian Theatermuseum is located in the Lobkowitz Palace, an elegant Baroque building in Vienna. With this ticket, you'll have access to an exhibition of more than 600 costumes and props, drawings, and 700,000 photographs showcasing the ins and outs of show business. You can see an entire collection dedicated to the actor and director Burgtheater Hugo Thimig, donated by the writer Joseph Gregor. The collector and activist Stefan Zweig also donated his collection of poets' autographs in 1938. The museum also has a space dedicated to the world of puppetry, featuring works of the puppeteer Richard Teschner, a pioneer of the early 20th century. The collection includes more than 100,000 books and publications on permanent loan from the Austrian National Library.
