What is the Mozart Haus Vienna?

The Mozart Haus Vienna is a building in the old town of the Austrian capital where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart once lived between 1784 and 1787. In this house in the historic centre, you can see different musical instruments and personal objects which once belonged to Mozart. The permanent exposition, over four floors, also showcases Vienna of the 18th century through various drawings. Additionally, the house features panels and interactive areas for children to explore the history of music.

How Does It Work?

The tour is self-guided, allowing you to take all the time you need to view the displays. An audio guide in English is provided, offering explanations about the objects related to Mozart's life and works.

Address & Schedule

The Mozart House Museum is located at 5 Domgasse and is open daily from 10 am to 7 pm. On December 3, 11 and 31, it closes at 6 pm, and on December 24, it closes at 4 pm. Final admission is 30 minutes before closing time.
