While in Vienna, explore the renovated palace-turned-art gallery with your ticket to the Heidi Horten Collection. Admire modern art masterpieces.

Why Visit the Heidi Horten Collection?

The Heidi Horten Collection is a recent addition to Vienna's cultural institutions, showcasing one of the highest-quality private collections in Europe. Your ticket grants access to modern pieces from artists such as Gustav Klimt, René Magritte, Pablo Picasso, and Andy Warhol, set within a transformed inner-city palace. The permanent collection is unique as the displayed works were selected by museum visitors through a poll initiated by Heidi Horten. Visitors can view works by Marc Chagall and Yves Klein year-round, with temporary exhibitions rotating throughout the year.

Permanent Exhibition

Discover a selection of the most iconic works from the museum's collection, curated by visitors. This exhibit allows exploration of influential movements in modern art over the past century, featuring works from Klimt to Warhol.

Experimental Expressionism. Schiele and Nosferatu

Until August 31, 2025, experience an exhibition merging German and Austrian Expressionism with early silent cinema visuals. See works by Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, and others, displayed alongside visuals from films like Nosferatu and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

The Line | From Drawing to Spatial Drawing

From September 19, 2025, to March 8, 2026, explore the expressive power of the line in an exhibition featuring both sketches and spatial installations. A highlight is a site-specific installation by Chiharu Shiota, using visitors' handwritten letters. The exhibition includes works by Klimt, Picasso, Warhol, and loans from prominent artists.
