Cruel murders and dark secrets lurk in the dark corners of Vienna's old town. Discover the mysteries and eerie legends of Austria's capital.

Vienna Ghosts and Legends Tour

We'll meet at Helmut Zilk Square to begin this tour of the mysteries and legends in Vienna.

The tour begins in front of the Vienna State Opera, where we will discuss the expulsion of the Jews by the Nazis and the effects of World War II bombings on its structure.

Next, we will walk along Augustinerstrasse to learn about Erzsébet Báthory, the 'Blood Countess,' who murdered over 30 young women to retain her looks.

We will pass St. Joseph's Square and St. Michael's Square to reach the parish of the Friars Minor, where cannonball holes from the war between the Habsburg Monarchy and the Ottoman Empire are still visible.

Our next stop will be to uncover the hidden meaning behind the House of the Five Murders and visit Am Hof square, the former site of public executions.

Additionally, we will explore Hoher Markt, the Heiligenkreuzerhof building, Schönlatern alley, and the 'bloody alley,' known for a massacre during the Knights Templar's time.

Finally, we will arrive at St. Stephen's Cathedral, discussing the significance of the gargoyles on its façade. Spirits and legends are prominent around this temple.

After an hour-and-a-half route, the tour will end at the entrance to the church.
