Accessing Ons Island



Commence your adventure at the port of Vigo, where you will board a ferry destined for Ons Island, a key component of the Atlantic Islands National Park. This safeguarded locale is renowned for its breathtaking vistas. The island has a long history of habitation dating back to prehistoric eras, and its current settlements are celebrated for their delicious cuisine and adherence to traditional lifestyles.



After a crossing that lasts just over an hour, you will have an entire day to discover the island's hiking routes through its mountains and caves. Don't miss the chance to see the island's impressive lighthouse, which ranks among the largest in Spain, and be sure to savor the local dishes offered in restaurants, along with the clear waters and beaches that attract many visitors.

Visitor Authorization



Due to the island's status as a protected zone, there is a cap on daily visitors. To visit, obtaining permission from the Xunta de Galicia is essential.



It is important to note that during the peak season (from May 15 to September 15 and during Easter), you must present your own permit issued by Xunta de Galicia for entry to Ons. This will be sent to you via email promptly. In contrast, outside of this period, permits will not be sent as the guide will carry them on the day of your visit.



If anyone in your party is unable to attend for any reason, please inform us at least 15 days ahead of time so we can remove their name from the Xunta de Galicia's list.

Guided Exploration of Ons Island



From October 1 to May 14 (excluding the period from the Friday before Holy Week to Easter Sunday), your ferry ticket will also offer you a complimentary one-hour guided exploration of Ons Island.

Return Ferry Timing



The ferry back departs at 6 pm.



With your ferry ticket, you are welcome to leave and return the same day. Should you wish to plan a return visit on another day, please contact us.
