At the designated time, we'll meet at the Vila Franca do Campo Marina to begin a kayak tour to the eponymous islet. After a brief introduction, we'll take the kayak and paddles and set out on the waters of São Miguel. Following the guide, we'll paddle around this volcanic island.

The guide will share facts about the formation of this islet in the Azores archipelago, noting that it is the crater of a submerged volcano and is also referred to as the 'Anel da Princesa' or 'Princess Ring'. During our 5-kilometre (3.1-mile) kayak route, we'll stop for you to dive into the Atlantic waters and snorkel, exploring the seabed and the diverse marine life.

We will conclude the experience by returning to the starting point after approximately 3 hours.

Access to Vila Franca do Campo Island

Access to Vila Franca do Campo island is restricted and subject to seasonal limitations due to its Protected Area status. The following schedules apply:

From April 15 to June 8: snorkelling or walking on the island is not permitted.From June 9 to October 31: no restrictions.From November 1 to April 14: only walking on the island is allowed.
